BNF is a registered charity that attracts funding from a variety of sources. These include contracts for projects funded by the European Commission, national government departments and agencies; donations and project grants from organisations and companies throughout the food chain (agriculture, food manufacture, food retail and food service); and funding from grant providing bodies, trusts and other charities. BNF also raises income through membership, conferences, publications, training and the sale of resources.

Further information is available in our annual reports.

Our broad funding base, networks and governance structure are inherent strengths that ensure we work with a diverse range of groups and talented individuals within the food and nutrition world. As a result we are ideally placed to understand the nutrition challenges faced and the opportunities and context for activities associated with delivering improved public health.
