A Plaice for Fish in the Diet - free lunchtime webinar on fish and health

This free lunchtime webinar aims to increase understanding of the reasons for the dietary recommendation to ‘eat at least two portions of fish, one of which should be oily, weekly’.

The webinar will explore the science behind why most of us should include more fish in our diet, particularly including more oily fish, and will look at:

  • fish consumption in the UK, and the contribution of fish to nutrient intakes;
  • health benefits associated with the long chain omega -3 fatty acids present in oily fish;
  • the research on eating fish in pregnancy and offspring outcomes;
  • evaluating the risks and the benefits: considering issues of sustainability and contaminants;
  • the challenge of Increasing consumption - acceptance and barriers.
