The British Nutrition Foundation Prize

The British Nutrition Foundation Prize is awarded annually to a person for their outstanding achievement in an area of nutrition over a number of years

The winner is identified by BNF’s Board of Trustees, Advisory Committee and Scientific Committee, based on a ballot of potential candidates, who can be nominated by anyone.

Traditionally, the recipient of the Prize delivers our Annual Lecture the following the year.

The Award is made possible through the British Nutrition Foundation's management of the Drummond Memorial Fund, established in memory of the work and contribution of Sir Jack Drummond.

The 2024 BNF Prize

We are inviting nominations for the British Nutrition Foundation Prize.

The Prize will be awarded to a UK-based leader in nutrition, who has made an outstanding contribution to the field over a number of years. This will be judged according to the significance and quality of the individual’s contribution to the field of nutrition and nutrition science and/or nutrition education and its impact on society.

The prize winner should be a good communicator, as they will be invited to describe the impact of their work to a broad audience at the British Nutrition Foundation Annual Lecture which takes place at the British Nutrition Foundation’s Annual Day, the year after the prize is awarded.

To submit a nomination, please send the person’s name and organisation, along with:

  1. a sentence encapsulating why the individual has been nominated and
  2. a short biography (100-250 words) that outlines their achievements

to Emma Rowley (e.rowley@nutrition.org.uk) by midnight on 5 May 2024.
