Education Officer (full-time, permanent)
Location: Central London (hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in office)

Salary: £35,000-£37,000 per annum
The salary range reflects progression opportunities within the role. Most successful candidates would be expected to start at the lower end of the range, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant experience.

We are looking for a confident, creative and diligent individual, with an interest in improving food and nutrition education for children and young people, to join our Education Team.
This exciting role provides the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects that seek to improve food and nutrition education in schools, and other settings, across the UK. The role involves supporting with the creation of resources and content, delivery of training events and evaluation of impact.
About the role
You will:
- support with the creation and updating of education resources for the British Nutrition Foundation’s websites and online training platform, in line with the appropriate branding and tone (foodafactoflife.org.uk, nutrition.org.uk, Cademy);
- upload content to the British Nutrition Foundation’s websites, namely Food – a fact of life;
- co-write the British Nutrition Foundation’s newsletters in relation to education projects;
- collect and collate statistics relating to the British Nutrition Foundation’s education work, e.g. website stats, training events;
- contribute to the delivery of the British Nutrition Foundation’s education events, e.g. workshops, conferences, webinars;
- present the work of the British Nutrition Foundation at internal and external events;
- represent the British Nutrition Foundation at external meetings/stakeholder events;
- contribute to projects and consultancy work including with the British Nutrition Foundation’s Member Companies;
- keep up-to-date with developments in schools, and nutrition, across the UK;
- contribute to the successful delivery of the British Nutrition Foundation’s annual health initiative (currently Snack-tember);
- support the delivery of the education element of the British Nutrition Foundation’s strategy; and
- support other members of the British Nutrition Foundation in identifying and securing funding for project work/consultancy.
About you:
You will have:
- A degree or equivalent.
- Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to speak to different audiences.
- An innovative approach to resource creation, including the use of AI where appropriate.
- Ability to develop education resources in digital formats (or a willingness to learn), e.g. videos, interactive activities.
- Ability to manage change and to adapt to unexpected demands.
- Ability to assess priorities and manage competing deadlines both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work with diligence and a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.
- Proven ability to work co-operatively in a small team environment.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to develop and learn in the role.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience of delivering food and health related activities/lessons to children and young people.
- Experience working in the field of nutrition.
- Experience of engaging parents/carers and/or community groups in food and nutrition.
- Experience of using digital platforms (e.g. Umbraco, monday.com, Brevo) or a willingness to learn.
Features of the role:
- Hybrid working with two days minimum a week in the BNF office, in central London.
- Must live within a 2-hour commute of central London.
- Some UK travel will be required as part of this role (depending on projects and training events).
- Occasional out of hours and weekend working may be required to support the Education Team when running online and face-to-face training events.
