Our Food Systems Transformation team plays a critical role in shaping the food environment, working with our 50+ corporate members to drive positive change across the sector.

 

 

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Nutrition Scientist to join our Food Systems Transformation team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of nutrition science and the food industry, delivering projects that help create healthier, more sustainable food choices.

 

You will:

  • Lead and deliver project and consultancy work for BNF corporate members, providing strategic critique, scientific advice, and practical solutions.
  • Develop thought leadership pieces and resources to strengthen BNF’s reputation as a trusted source of nutrition expertise.
  • Provide timely scientific content for communications and member updates.
  • Conduct scientific reviews and ensure all outputs are informed by the latest evidence.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nutrition science and food policy, engaging in active CPD.

 


 

About You
We’re looking for someone who combines scientific rigour with practical insight and relationship-building skills. You will have:

  • A degree in food science, human nutrition, or dietetics (MSc/PhD desirable).
  • Registered Nutritionist or Dietitian.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a food industry nutrition role.
  • Strong understanding of UK food industry issues and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent project management skills and a track record of delivering on time and to budget.
  • Outstanding communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.

You’ll be confident, analytical, collaborative, and resilient, with a passion for applying research to real-world solutions.

 


 

Special Features

  • Hybrid working (minimum 2 days/week in our London office).
  • Occasional UK travel to meet corporate members.
  • Must live within 2 hours of central London.
