Corporate membership

To support achievement of the British Nutrition Foundation's charitable objects and strategy, the Foundation’s Articles of Association allow for corporate membership. Corporate membership is open to organisations, companies and corporations from a range of backgrounds, such as banking, insurance, the food chain, health care, fitness, IT and media.

Through its external engagement work with members and others, the British Nutrition Foundation encourages a food environment that promotes healthier choices.

The British Nutrition Foundation is an established, authoritative and evidence-based organisation that operates with integrity. Our members benefit from collaboration characterised by access to:

  • exclusive publications, updates and events;
  • dedicated time from nutrition scientists and education experts to support company needs and decision making;
  • project consultancy with experienced in-house nutritionist scientists and education experts - to support activities such as devising, developing, and/or disseminating reviews of the evidence base; holding roundtables on specific topics; nutritional and dietary analyses; writing and editing; multi-media resource development; establishing nutrient criteria for product ranges; a sounding board for policy development and decision making; analysis of current diets (e.g. from national data); reviewing nutrition messages on websites; developing factsheets, FAQs, blogs and newsletters; and horizon scanning;
  • training - a mix of face-to-face, webinar and online training vehicles, supporting in-house business needs, as well as staff wellbeing initiatives.

Members are encouraged to acknowledge their support of our work, and thus their contribution and commitment to important environmental and social issues concerning nutrition, health, education and wellbeing.

Why corporate membership?

Through engagement with our networks, including our corporate members, the British Nutrition Foundation has experience over many decades of collaborating with a range of organisations and interested parties to challenge current practices, to deliver evidence-based scientific insight and information, and to communicate this in engaging and user-friendly ways. This expertise enables informed decisions to be made by our networks about a broad range of nutrition and health matters, including nutrition strategies, workplace health initiatives and other business decisions. Examples of the types of work conducted can be found in our annual reports.

We are proud of our long-established reputation for collaboration. What sets the British Nutrition Foundation apart is its ability to bring together those with an interest in food and nutrition from diverse sectors - academia, medicine, health care, education, communication and the food chain.

The British Nutrition Foundation provides a strategic voice focused on objective nutrition science interpretation and delivery, backed by extensive networks and well-respected publications, resources and training. The British Nutrition Foundation has insight derived from in-depth interaction with a wide range of stakeholders, such as government, media, industry, health professionals and schools.

We do not lobby, endorse any products, engage in food advertising campaigns or allow commercial or political pressure to influence us when publishing or disseminating information. Our governance arrangements ensure that we deliver our charitable aims, are impartial, transparent and act with integrity.
